Holy Fire® III Reiki Master

Hi, I’m Sarah! I'm a combat veteran, Active-Duty military spouse of over 20 years, mother of two middle school boys, dedicated volunteer, and yoga and wellness enthusiast. After graduating college, I was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Army and served six years Active Duty, including two combat deployments, and one year in the U.S. Army Reserves. Upon leaving the Army, I transitioned into a support role as leader and advisor of various Family Readiness Groups at numerous Army organizational levels. My husband remained on Active Duty, and his military assignments led our family to various locations across the country and the world. I am also an avid volunteer at my sons’ school and our church. In our leisure time, we enjoy traveling, vacationing to Disney World and on Disney Cruises, and attending various sporting events.

My yoga journey began after my sons were born, when I was trying to lose the baby weight and casually thought that I'd add yoga into my fitness regimen. I immediately fell in love and had no idea how yoga would change my life, and my perception of true health and wellness. After practicing for about two years, I received my 200-hr certification from Aura Wellness Center while living overseas in Australia. During this time, my passion for yoga and wellness flourished and my desire to own my own yoga studio was ignited.

After moving to South Carolina, I began teaching at Palmetto Yoga Studio upon its opening in 2019. During my time teaching yoga at the studio, I was also introduced to Reiki energy healing, and after seeing what a powerful addition it has been in the wellness of myself and my family, I furthered my education and earned my Usui/Holy Fire®III Reiki Master Certification. In addition to teaching several yoga classes each week and serving as a Reiki Master practitioner, I also worked as the Studio Manager, using that time to learn and receive mentorship from the owner and founder of Palmetto Yoga, Josee Madison. After 5 years of working closely together and building the studio into what it is today, I proudly became the new owner of Palmetto Yoga in December 2024.

I have found yoga to be such an incredible gift and feel blessed to be able to share that gift with others. It has been amazing to witness the physical, therapeutic relief and healing that I, and many people I know, have experienced because of yoga. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect has been the powerful transformation it has had on my mind-body-soul connection, and I am so grateful for the impact that yoga has had on my overall sense of wellness, balance, and peace.

I am passionate about introducing and sharing the wonders of yoga and wellness with others. I love helping others use yoga to discover, accept, and love themselves. No matter your size, shape, age, gender, fitness or flexibility level, physical condition, mental condition, or whatever else, yoga can and WILL change your life if you choose to practice with an open mind and heart. The divine light in me sees and honors the divine light in you…Namaste.
